September 2024:
a milestone moment
On September 30, 2024, we officially put shovels in the ground at 405 N. Main Street to mark the beginning of construction on Henderson's first craft distillery. This groundbreaking ceremony kicked off the transformation of the historic Municipal Power & Light campus into a state-of-the-art, grain-to-glass production facility. From the preserved barrel house to our towering new stillhouse, this milestone was a transformative moment—putting Henderson firmly on the map as a can't-miss destination for bourbon enthusiasts and locals alike.

It has been over 100 years since spirits were last distilled and bottled in Henderson. When it came time to choose a home for Rhythm River Distillery, the choice wasn't about finding a massive industrial lot—it was about coming home.Andrew and Meredith Powell founded this distillery right in the thick of downtown on the historic Municipal Power & Light property. Our name reflects a shared local philosophy: finding harmony in the current, embracing our rich musical heritage, and blending historic tradition with a prosperous future. From employing local architects and contractors to partnering with downtown shops and innkeepers, we are deeply invested in driving economic energy right here. We didn’t build this to just be a business; we built it to be a Henderson institution that belongs to the community for generations to come.
